Grand Knight’s Message
I wish all a Happy, Healthy and Holy New Year. I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. Well, a New Year is here! Lets all pray for a better year than last! Last year, a lot of people lost their jobs, or had to take less hours at work and some people even lost their homes. Let’s open our hearts and be ready to help others in their hour of need. It has been very busy the last few months with getting ready for Christmas. I would like to thank all who helped with the many projects around the Church the past couple of months. I have noticed the many hours The Knights and their families dedicate to our Church and community. We are truly blessed to have such caring, giving people in our community. With the New Year comes more projects and things to get done. So, please attend the business meetings and help out if you can.
Mark your calendars for the following dates. Jan. 30th Knight’s Fuel Assistance Dinner. We will need help with this. Please come to the meeting so we can plan for this dinner. The form for Fraternal Hours is due the end of January. You can give them to me or Pete Hubby. We will also need help with taking down the outside Christmas lights at the church. We will set the time for this at the business meeting. Thank you all another successful year.
Vivat Jesus

The form is in the bulletin or can be downloaded from our website. The adult Christmas party is December 18th and the children’s party is December 19th. Thanks to Peter Hubby for getting the basket together that the Council donated to the Church fair. Also, to Bob Faust for organizing the work at the Epping food pantry along with those who helped and Dave Biron and Mike Kappler for selling the Keep Christ in Christmas cards this year.
District Deputy Dave Hamilton presented the Knight in Shining Armor award to Steven Ste. Marie. Dave Biron read an article about Our Lady of Guadalupe. The Trustees had nothing to report. Mike Annis talked about needing help with the Children’s Christmas party on Dec. 19th and the Adult’s Christmas party Dec. 18th. Call Mike ASAP at 895-4713. The Council won First place at the Raymond Christmas parade for our float.
Mike thanked all who helped assemble and distribute the Thanksgiving baskets, food for the Christmas baskets will be picked up Saturday, December 19th and assembled then, too. They will be distributed after Mass on Sunday, December 20th. Dave Hamilton is co-chair for this project. Some gifts will be delivered along with the baskets.

Something is being planned for Church January 21st. Bob Faust reported the donation to the Epping food pantry was matched and 24 Knights and their families helped sort the food donated at Church and to the Boy Scout food collection. Ed Parent said the Epping Crèche lighting was Friday, December 11th. A good tune was had by all, he purchased figurines and LED lights as well as Acrylic covers for the Crèche scene.

Ed Parent said George Bryant wanted to join [or rejoin] our Council, John Nasser is checking to see if he ever actually transferred from our Council. Gil Burelle said there is an Air Show at Pease in 2010 and the Blue Angels will be performing. Mike Annis motioned to pay for supplies Ed bought for the Epping Crèche but Ed said he’s donating that, so the motion was withdrawn.

Fr. Von mentioned Christmas is fast approaching and the decorations look very good. He would like Regalia for Midnight Mass. The generator has been installed and tested. It is a 15kw generator.
Paul Arsenault reported the balance at the end of November, 2009 is $7345.34, Committed Funds are $6646.37 leaving a Net of $698.97, which is why we need to keep an eye on how we spend our money.

A LITTLE HUMOR
Little Bobby was spending the weekend with his
grandmother after a particularly trying week in kindergarten. His grandmother
decided to take him to the park on Saturday morning. It had been snowing all
night and everything was beautiful.
His grandmother remarked..."doesn't it look like an artist painted
this scenery? Did you know God painted this just for you?" Bobby said, "Yes, God
did it and he did it left handed." This confused his grandmother a bit, and she
asked him "What makes you say God did this with his left hand?"
"Well," said Bobby, "we learned at Sunday School last week that Jesus sits on
God's right hand!"
THE SERIOUS SIDE
