APRIL 2006
Grand Knight’s Message...
Brothers,
First, I would like to inform my Brothers that on March 16th at 8:00PM Scott Townsend took his 2nd Degree in Hudson. He was one of 32 that evening. Congratulations Scott. On that same evening the Confirmation Class of 2006 was being confirmed at St Joseph Church by Bishop Christian. The Assembly was present as Honor Guard as they have been in the past. Thank you to those Sir Knights who were able to attend the Confirmation.
The following Sunday on March 19th, the Council put on a free breakfast in honor of our patron saint, St Joseph. Mike Annis chaired this event and had plenty of helping hands assisting him. It was great to see plenty of Brother Knights working together. That afternoon was the 3rd Seventh Trumpet Mass at St Joseph Cathedral in Manchester with another large turnout. The one scheduled for April is on the 23rd and will be held at St Augustine and one is in the planning to take place in a park in Manchester in June. On the evening of March 19th, the Council held a 1st Degree bringing in 1 new Brother Knight to our Council and there were two from other neighboring Councils. These Councils were Pittsfield/Northwood #11606 and Plaistow #6617. Congratulations to Jim Collins who is our new Brother Knight in our Council.
We had several Brothers that helped out as catchers for the Healing Mass with Sister Bernadette. Thank you Jim Gray for chairing this activity and those who assisted him.
The 5th Annual Spring Fling Social Took Place on March 23rd. Many Brothers along with their families came out to this annual event. Everyone had a good time. Once again Jim Wooster and I along with a crew of cooks were flipping those burgers and dogs out at the pits. Though many were enjoying the gathering inside the Parish Hall, those that gathered around the pit had a wonderful time as well. Just ask “Cheesy Man” Rick Cabral about it. Thank you to those Brothers who helped with this event and those who brought dessert that evening.
The following Saturday March 25th was the Day of the Unborn Child. In honor of this day the Council held a Pro Life Mass at 8:00AM.We had 14 Brother Knights attend this mass along with few parishioners. Though I consider this a good turnout, I hope this can be doubled next year.
Nancy Metevier 895-2889 and Judy Annis 895-4713 still need a hand with the Scrap Book. Please give them a call and give them a hand.
April 7th, 2006 the Council once again will host the Live Stations of the Cross sharply at 6:00PM. Prior to this will be Soup and Bread served in the Parish Hall. After the Stations of the Cross, First Friday Adoration will take place.
The next day is the Monarchs Hockey game starting at 7:35PM. Out of 269 tickets from State Council we were able to sell 60 plus through our Council. A reminder that this is Squire’s Dinner night as well. All hands are needed to help them with cleanup as there are several Squires and their families attending the hockey game.
The next day is Palm Sunday. The Council will be having a Palm Sunday Breakfast following the 8:00AM Mass. Mark Hausmann is the Chairperson for this event. We will still have the Business meeting at the same time.
The ‘Lets Go Fishing Derby’ is scheduled for the last weekend in April. Please contact Mike Annis at 895-4713 for more information.
Let us have a good showing at all Holy Week Services. May you and your family have a joyous and wonderful Easter.
Let us all pray the Rosary as often as we can. The Power of Mary’s help cannot be denied. Please pray for our Holy Father Pope Benedict XVI, World Peace, and all our military personnel around the world, our Parish Priest and Chaplain Fr. Mike Taylor, all our priests and all our Brother Knights.

The "new" Council 6850 lunch wagon is under construction at the home of Mike Annis. Anyone who has carpentry skills or who would like to help out, contact Mike at 895-4713.Also, Rick Cabral is busy renovating the old one which has been passed down to the Squires. They will soon be using it to sell sandwiches, hamburgers and hot dogs at the Raymond baseball field this summer.Good Luck to Rick and his crew.
Easter is fast approaching. The Live Stations of the Cross, which takes place outside, is April 7th at 6:00PM preceeded by soup in the Church Hall starting at 5:30PM. The next business meeting is Sunday, April 9th, which is also Palm Sunday. Nominations for Officers for the next fraternal year will be made at this meeting, therefore, give it some thought if anyone is interested in serving. We will try to keep it a short meeting as it will be a busy morning. For those who purchased tickets, the Manchester Monarchs' hockey game is Saturday night, April 8th after the Squires' dinner.
Please keep Joe Clement, who recently had a bout with Pneumonia and Clarence Desroshiers who has been ill in your prayers. It is good to see Norm Elliot back in circulation.

ON THE SERIOUS SIDE
This should probably be taped to your bathroom mirror where one could read it every day. You may not realize it, but it’s 100% true.
1. There are at least two people in this world that you would die for.
2. At least 15 people in this world love you in the same way.
3. The only reason anyone would ever hate you is because they want to be just like you.
4. A smile from you can bring happiness to anyone, even if they don’t like you.
5. Every night, someone thinks about you before they go to sleep.
6. You mean the world to someone
7. You are special and unique.
8. Someone that you don’t even know exists loves you.
9. When you make the biggest mistake ever, something good comes from it.
10. When you think the world has turned its back on you take another look.
11. Always remember the compliments you received. Forget about the rude remarks.
12. God loves you and is always there for you.
Amen!!
ON THE HUMOROUS SIDE
1. “When my children were younger, my boys godmother came over for a visit. She was sitting at the table; the children were fussing, because they wanted their bottles. I tried so hard to focus on the conversation that I poured the coffee in the baby bottle and the baby milk into the coffee cup of my visitor and didn't catch on until everybody was quiet and just looked really puzzled at me.”
2. “My oldest son has put the milk in the cabinet and the cereal in the refrigerator. My middle one has put on his tennis shoes and then fussed about where in the world his shoes could be, then find another pair and start to put them on before he realized he already had shoes on.”
3. “One day my teenage son was sitting at the kitchen table eating when my then 6 year old daughter came in the room and asked if she could have a glass of orange juice. I was at the sink washing dishes and my son kindly said, "Sure, I'll get it." He proceeded to the refrigerator, got out the orange juice, went to the cabinet, got a glass, filled it with orange juice, drank it and then sat down again to finish eating. My daughter stood watching all of this and finally said, "What about my orange juice?"
He had completely forgotten why he was getting the juice, even with her standing right there.”
