Grand Knight’s Message
Brothers,
May was a busy month with the many projects we had to get done. Some of the projects were; a breakfast in honor of Saint Joseph, a breakfast for Mothers Day, the fishing Derby, at the cemetery we had to cut and clean up a fallen tree and a bunch of the Knights ripped out the old tile in the Parish Hall.
I would like to thank all for helping make these projects a success.
Well, June looks to be another busy Month. Please come to this month's meeting to find out what projects we have for upcoming, and try to help if you can.
This month is Election time! I have been Grand Knight for two years now and I will be stepping down. I would like to thank my brother knights and their families for making the past two years a success( with all the projects that got done) and for making it fun. I didn’t know what to expect when I became Grand Knight. I have had some of the best times I have ever had. I feel this is the best council in the state! I would like to give a special thank you to The Officers for their help in guiding me through the last two years. I know they will be there for the next Grand Knight, and the many projects coming up. And a very special THANK YOU to Dave Biron for all the many hours he spends every month putting together The Council’s News Letter. And I owe him an apology for always sending my Grand Knights message late. So, Thank you Dave, and may God Bless you.
God Bless
Rick Cabral GK

ON THE SERIOUS SIDE
To The Knights of Columbus,
I just want to say what a great morning we had at The Knights of Columbus "Let's Go Fishing" fishing derby this past Saturday. I have two daughters Carys age 6 and Paige age 8. I grew up fishing with my father and I love to take my daughters fishing, this is really their second year fishing. The group people that ran the derby did a top notch job and everyone was very nice. It was a beautiful morning even with all the rain we had. Paige ended up catching the first fish at the same time as another little girl, and with a tie the first fish prize went to the biggest first fish. The girls were sitting on their little chairs under a large umbrella, they were cold and wet but they were having fun. Then Paige caught a nice 11 ¾ inch fish. That fish ended up being the biggest fish of the day. By 10:30 am Carys had not recorded a fish but she had caught many. Then with 2 minutes left in the derby she caught a 11 ½ inch fish, that tied for second place. All through the derby the announcer kept saying “it only takes one cast to catch the big one” That kept my youngest daughter going, she was determined to fish to the end. We left the house in the rain no knowing what to expect and we ended up having a great memorable morning fishing at the derby. Thank you to The Knights of Columbus who did a great job organizing and running the event. We will be back next year for sure.
Thanks
Kevin O’Neil
