Grand Knight’s Message...
Brothers,
My apologies for getting the newsletters out late for July and the month of August. I have been lacking on my part in getting the Grand Knights letter ready for print. DGK Dave Biron has been keeping up with his part of the newsletter and is doing a wonderful job. I will do my best from here on in getting them out by the first of the month.
Several activities took place during the month of July starting with the 4th of July Parade. This event involved the Council and Assembly. Thanks to those Brothers and their wives who donated their time in preparing the float and for those that participated in the parade. The following weekend was the Raymond Town Fair. Granted Friday evening was rather wet but the project was a success. Thank you Mike Annis and Mike Gangi for Chairing this event and all that were able to help throughout the weekend. The Annual Motorcycle Blessing in its 8th year running was held the following weekend after the fair. Thank you Mike Annis and Jim Wooster for Chairing this event. Also thanks to those that lend a hand in this event. DGK Dave Biron attended the quarterly meeting in Nashua and has given me a report. Information about the meeting will be talked about at the next Business Meeting.
After the Business Meeting on August 14 at 12: 00 PM the Adopt a Highway Cleanup will take place. Please help keep our highway clean and call Dan Bennis at 679-1453. August 20 is the Annual BBQ Chicken following the 4:30 PM Mass. Mike Annis [895-4713] and I [895-0993] are Chairing this event and we need lots of help with this project. Just like last year it will be held out in the church parking area. We will be doing homemade pies again for desert again. If you or your wife would like to help out with this please give me a call at 895-0993. The following day on the 21st the Council and Assembly will have the Instillation of Officers at 12:00 Noon. Hampstead Council will also be attending that day. This is open to all Council and Assembly members and their families. I would like all past Knight of the Month and Family of the Month recipients from July 2004-June 2005 to attend. The Knight of the Year and Family of the Year will be awarded that day. August 26th, 27th and 28th are scheduled for the Tootsie Roll Drive. Please help Leo Blouin by giving him a call 895-1633.
It is that time again for the fun filled weekend for Camp Fatima which is set for September 2nd through the 5TH.. Those that plan on attending this year please contact Mike Annis 895-4713 or myself 895-0993 so that we can have an idea on how many people will be going. For those who have never been before please inquire about this fun camping weekend that happens this time every year.
For those receiving this letter by mail, you can get this letter on line by giving your e-mail address to Jim Gray. This will help keep our cost down on stamps and paper.
The Knights of Columbus does host the Rosary every Thursday at 7:00PM in the Chapel. It has been brought to my attention that attendance is low. Please remember your 1st Degree.
There is in the planning for a mini retreat in the later part of September or in October.
Let us all pray the Rosary as often as we can. The Power of Mary’s help cannot be denied. Please pray for our Holy Father Pope Benedict XVI, World Peace, and all our military personnel around the world, our Parish Priest and Chaplain Fr. Mike Taylor, all our priests and all our Brother Knights.

COUNCIL NEWS
The Raymond Town Fair took place in July. Thanks to all the Knights who helped out selling delicious Steak Subs. One week later, our annual Motorcycle Blessing and Cookout was held at St. Joseph Church. Despite hot, humid and threatening weather a good turnout enjoyed the afternoon and motorcycle ride afterward. Again, many thanks to all who help make this a very rewarding event each year. Also on July 17th, Dave Hamilton and Dave Biron represented our Council at the State Quarterly meeting in Nashua along with our new District Deputy, Ron Metevier. At the meeting, the State Council announced that at Quarterly meetings, they will be recognizing a " Family of the Month" and a "Knight of the Month" chosen from those submitted by all Councils. The first "Family of the Month "chosen was from Epping Council 6850 for March which was Jim and Nancy Gray. Congratulations! Needed are Co-Chairs to work with Dave Biron for selling State Ball raffle tickets and "Keep Christ in Christmas" greeting cards program. Upcoming events are the Chicken Barbecue on August 20th , Tootsie Roll Drive August 26, 27 and 28th, and the Camporee Labor Day Weekend at Camp Fatima. Also in September, a Blood Drive will take place on September 6th. .So, if anyone can donate some time, plenty of help is needed.
FOURTH DEGREE NEWS
Thank you to all who participated in the Flag disposal ceremony held July 3rd. All are sure to agree that it was a very memorable event. Also, the Fourth of July Parade saw our Assembly receive Honorable Mention for our very patriotic float. Congratulations and thanks again to all helped! Looking ahead, please mark the date of November 6 in your calendars which is when we will hold our Veterans Day dinner in the Parish hall.
God Bless,
Dave Hamilton,F.N.
A LITTLE BIT OF HUMOR
With more Churches than casinos in Las Vegas, many worshipers put betting chips into the collection plate instead of cash. Because there are so many different casinos, the Catholic churches send the chips into the diocese for sorting. Once these chips are sorted, a junior priest hits the casinos changing the chips into cash. What do they call this priest? A chip monk. (June edition of Readers' Digest)
ON THE SERIOUS SIDE
We've got 1 team covered but we're still looking for some more members to establish a 2nd team of ‘catchers’ to help at the healing services.
There is 1 healing service held per quarter at St.Joseph Church, Epping which can last over an hour plus, depending on attendance at the service.
If we establish 2 teams of 6 men per team, that would mean each service would definitely be covered and each team should only have to do 2 services per year.
A 4- man team is needed for each service. With 2 alternates this should allow coverage for any vacations, illness or emergencies.
See your July 2005 Newsletter for full description of this activity or check out the July Newsletter section of our website: http://www.kofc6850.org
If you can help and would like to join a team, please call Jim Gray at 603.887.1755 or send him an e-mail at: jjg12@gsinet.net
