AUGUST COUNCIL NEWS
Grand Knight Rick Cabral said that the Squires were doing well at the Raymond Town Fair and are almost sold out of the 300 hamburgers they had.
Rick thanked the many Knights helping out at the Raymond Town Fair at both the Knights' and Squires' trailers. Some reports will be done next month since many of those who would give the reports are working at the fair. Both trailers are busy so far. The Squires are donating their proceeds to the Boy's Home in Allenstown.
Thank you to all who helped out at the Parish Picnic, which went very well despite some rain, and to Mark Hausmann for all the cooperation from the Fourth Degree Assembly in the last year. Rick thanked everyone for their help last year and for voting for the new officers for our new Council year. It looks like we met all our quotas for the last Council year.
Our Council won Judge's Choice for Color Guard and First Place for our float at the Raymond Fourth of July parade. The annual Bike Blessing is July 19th and lots of help is needed for that project.
Our yearly audit is due and there is a Quarterly meeting July 26th. John Nasser reported we have received a bill from Supreme for our per capita dues. The Trustees said we need to set a date for the audit.
Bob Faust reported that certification of the Second Degree team is almost done, there will be a final walk through on July 30th at 7:00PM at St. Joseph's.
Rick reported that the Walk for Life went well despite the rain and hopes we get invited back next year. Let Rick know about any project fundraisers you can think of especially since we are now doing more projects. We need help raising money to cover our added costs for these projects. Let Rick know if you can help with the Town Fair closing about 4:00PM today and the Motorcycle Blessing July 19th.
Paul Arsenault spoke about what items are 'Restricted Funds [also called 'Committed Funds'] in his monthly report. Balance at the end of June, 2009 is $3370.21, Committed Funds are $5177.58 leaving a Net of minus $1807.37, which is why we need to do more fund raising projects.
Fr. Von thanked the Knights for the help with the Parish Picnic and will be doing the Motorcycle Blessing next week. He also appreciates all the work the Knights do around the Parish.
John Ste. Marie will be chairing the Chicken BBQ in August.
Mark Hausmann reported the Fourth Degree needs to do its audit also and a date needs to be set to do that. Leo asked if we had heard who the new Seminarian we will support will be and was told we hope to hear in August. It will cost $750.00 to replace the Council flag. It was suggested we contact Cam to see where the Assembly flag was purchased. Thanks go to John Ste. Marie for doing the Flag retirement ceremony.
Notify Dave Biron at 580-2729 about any projects so they can be put in the bulletin. There is a planning meeting every 3rd Wednesday after the evening Mass.
AUGUST DISTRICT DEPUTY REPORT
Our new District Deputy, Dave Hamilton, reported there is a District Deputy class July 25th he will be attending and the Quarterly meeting is July 26th. Car pool at Church at Noon. This year tie and jackets are required for those attending the Quarterly meetings. The installation of State Officers is August 22nd, Dave is trying to set a date in September for the installation of our Council's Officers.
THE SERIOUS SIDE
