Grand Knight’s Message
Brother Knights,
Well last month was very BUSY. I would like to thank all who helped with all the many projects we had. All the projects went well and we had great participation. We had the tootsie roll drive, chicken BBQ, installation of officers, and a First Degree all on the same weekend. I have never seen a busier weekend. Thanks to all involved, there must have been 30 Knights and their families working that weekend alone. I think that's the definition for an Active Council. This Labor Day about 50 to 60 Knights and their families are going to Camp Fatima for some greatly needed R&R. September 2nd brings our next project, which is the blood drive from 2 pm to 7 pm. Hope to see many of you there to help. We also have the steak and lobster cookout on September 27th. Mark your calendars.
Again thanks to all for your help in these projects.
Vivat Jesus,
Grand Knight
Richard Cabral
A Friendly Reminder: The Steak & Lobster Dinner is Saturday September 27th. Help is needed!!

COUNCIL NEWS
Grand Knight Rick Cabral thanked all those who are helped with the July 4th parade. Knights helped at both our trailer and the Squires trailer at the Raymond Town Fair. We should have a total of the proceeds next month Fr. Mike came for the Blessing of the Bike’s, there were over 100 bikes and Fr. Mike Blessed each one. Help is needed with the Tootsie Roll Drive and Chicken BBQ in August. Fatima forms need to be filled out away celebration and sent in ASAP, the forms are available on the State Council website. They need to be sent in by August 20th and you must be a current cardholder to reserve a cabin. There was no Chancellor report but Mike Annis is doing well.
Dave Hamilton, John Nasser and Ron Metevier did the Audit and it has been mailed.. The Squires dinner went well on August 9th and about 50 attended the dinner. Thanks go to John and Jan Ste. Marie and family and all the Squires who helped at the dinner. The Squires will be helping with the Fatima cleanup. Trying to get a ballgame between the Knights and the Squires set up. Jim Wooster asked if it’s possible to donate blood to replace the blood Cheryl Johnson has needed. Ron said he’d call the Red Cross to see if blood donations can be done.
Joe Lessard had nothing at this time on the cans but did mention someone may need to take over the cans if he sells his truck.
Ron Metevier said the Blood Drive is September 2nd, the day after Labor Day from 2PM to 7PM and help is needed. Jackets are running about $70 to $80 with emblems and the minimum order is 6 jackets.
Dave Biron has tickets for the State Ball Raffle and needs help selling them after Mass in the Narthex. Dave also advised that Pope Benedict XVI has declared June 20, 2008 to June 20, 2009, the Year of St. Paul. Tona McCarthy will be doing a social in October and is looking for suggestions. Dennis Breen is suggesting a new project, an election day Novena called ’Faith of Our Fathers’. Ron Metevier suggested talking to our new Pastor and Fr. Aggie, who is State Chaplin about this project. Mark Hausmann made a motion to support the project if it is approved and it was seconded and passed.
Mark also reported the Fourth Degree is working on completing their audit.
There is a planning meeting for events on the 3rd Thursday each month, please attend if you are running an event and don’t forget your service report afterward.
DISTRICT DEPUTY REPORT
District Deputy Ron Metevier reported Regional Third Degrees will be held on September 26th in Londonderry and October 26th in Portsmouth. A Second Degree team is being formed and this will allow Regional Second Degrees to be held. Installation of Council 6850 Officers is Aug. 24th after the 10:30AM Mass. There is also a First Degree that night at St. Joseph’s. Regional meeting will be held in October. The State Ball is Nov. 8th at the Crowne Plaza in Nashua. It is a Council event, do we want to get a table together? It is Black Tie. November 15th is Fourth Degree in Keene. The Granite Award Dinner is in February at the Crowne Plaza in Nashua and is also Black Tie. Service Forms need to be filled out for each project. September 11th is ‘World Day of Prayer for Peace’ and ‘Keep Christ in Christmas’ is coming up, date is on the State website.

HUMOROUS TIMES
"Traveling Too Light "
A porter loaded down with suitcases followed the couple to the airline check-in counter.
As they approached the line, the husband glanced at the pile of luggage and said to the wife, "Why didn't you bring the piano, too?"
"Are you trying to be funny?" she replied.
"No, I really wish you had" he sighed. "I left the tickets on it."
