COUNCIL NEWS
Grand Knight Rick Cabral gave 2nd Degree certificates to the members who received their 2nd Degree in Tilton on September 21st. Rick also thanked the members in Regalia who helped at the All Souls Day Remembrance Mass and those who helped at the Fall Church cleanup. More than 40 children were at the Halloween party. Help is needed picking up the food and packing and distributing the Thanksgiving and Christmas baskets. Thanksgiving baskets will be delivered Tuesday, November 24th. Contact Dave Hamilton or Mike Annis to help. Also, decorating outside the Church for Christmas will start November 29th at 9:00AM. Contact Dave Biron or Mike Annis to help.
To help with the Free-Throw contest this year please call Pedro Gonzales or Mike Annis. The State Ball was well attended by members of our Council. We will get $215.00 back from the sale of the State Ball Raffle tickets. There will be a 2nd Degree in Hudson on November 20th. Our Lady of Charity Icon will be at St. Joseph’s November 26th to November 30th. Our Council received the Columbian award at the Quarterly meeting in Littleton in October. The Trustees approved paying the bills we have received. Mike Annis pointed out that any project that involves funding needs to be brought to the Grand Knight for consideration and to be sure funds are available. So many Knights donated to the Halloween party that Mike Annis was able to return some money that had been budgeted for the party.
The Children’s Christmas party is in December and help is needed. Call Mike Annis. Co-Chair’s John Ste. Marie, Gerry Gagnon and Tony Sequeira reported this year’s Tootsie Roll drives raised $4313.00. The 2009 Tootsie Roll drives will be in April and in the Fall. John Nasser reported we received $100.00 from Supreme for the Vocation support refund.
Fr. Von thanked the Knights for the help with the cleanups at the Church and Rectory. He also encouraged
the Knights to attend 24 Hour Adoration with a ‘Knight an Hour’ at each of the 24 hours.
Fr. Von also pointed out that he needs help from the Knights at the Healing Services and hopes more will
attend them to help him.
Joe Lessard turned in $61.25 from the can project and Mark Hausmann turned in $60.00 in donations for the Little Feet pins.
Ron Metevier reported the Raymond Holiday parade may not happen at this time but the Knights will still do the Lighting and Mangers in Raymond and Epping. Call Bob Faust to help in Raymond and Ed Parent to help in Epping. Ron has tickets for the Mall of NH Evening of Giving which will be November 23rd from 6 to 9:30PM. Peter Hubby stated that program reports needed to be turned in this week. Under New Business Mike Annis moved to pay $700.00 towards the cost of Memorial for the Unborn which is being split among the Squires, Council and Assembly, estimated cost is $2100.00. Dave Hamilton talked about ‘Project Moses’ and made a motion to discuss it with Fr. Von. Both motions were moved, seconded and passed.
Fourth Degree report, Mark Hausmann thanked all those in Regalia at the Nov 2nd All Souls Day Mass and Knights in Regalia are needed at the 10:30AM Christ the King Mass. Flag retirement ceremony will be November 11th at 6:00PM

DISTRICT DEPUTY REPORT
District Deputy Ron Metevier reported that we are covered by the State K of C liability insurance program now. We should send in Tootsie Roll money ASAP and specify who gets the proceeds. There’s a new newsletter on the State website and it’s been suggested the Councils send in project reports so they can be put on the State website. Also, keep the reports coming in on time.
A LITTLE HUMOR
Santa Claus takes poor sick Rudolph to the vet
Santa says to the vet, 'Doctor, please do something for my Rudolph. His nose won't light up.The vet walks out of the room and returns with a pet carrier. He places the pet carrier next to the reindeer, opens it and out steps a cat. The cat walks around the reindeer and sniffs it. The cat then climbs back into the carrier. The animal doctor takes it out of the room and returns. He hands Santa Claus the bill.
Santa gasps, '$350 dollars!?!?! You didn't do anything for my Rudolph and you're charging me $350 dollars?.
The vet shrugged and replied, 'That's the usual charge. $50 dollars for the office visit and $300 dollars for the CAT SCAN.'
ADVENT PRAYER
Come,
long-expected Jesus.
Excite in me a wonder at the wisdom and power of Your Father and ours.
Receive my prayer as part of my service of the Lord
who enlists me in God's own work for justice.
Come, long-expected Jesus.
Excite in me a hunger for peace: peace in the world,
peace in my home, peace in myself.
Come, long-expected Jesus.
Excite in me a joy responsive to the Father's joy.
I seek His will so I can serve with gladness, singing and love.
Come, long-expected Jesus.
Excite in me the joy and love and peace
it is right to bring to the manger of my Lord.
Raise in me, too,
sober reverence for the God who acted there,
hearty gratitude for the life begun there,
and spirited resolution to serve the Father and Son.
I pray in the name of Jesus Christ,
whose advent I hail.
Amen.
